Temporaraly missing firearm in police arms store

Malcolm Lock made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police

Response to this request is long overdue. By law New Zealand Police should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: Malcolm Lock

Dear New Zealand Police,

In relation to OIA request https://fyi.org.nz/request/7858-temporar...

Was an inventory of items seized for the ten firearms issued in
accordance with section 133 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012?

This information was requested on the 9th July 2018 and is still outstanding to be appropriately answered so I will submit another separate request for this information.

Please answer the question correctly, your last reply was that an inventory was done, but did not state that it was done in accordance with section 133 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012?

The public of New Zealand have the right to know if the New Zealand police are operating within their legal obligations at all times.

The New Zealand public need the reassurance that the New Zealand police are operating legally and efficiently at all times whilst enforcing the law as required.

Yours faithfully,

Malcolm Lock
