The request was successful.
From: David Farrar
Dear Mr Peters,
I am seeking the following information under the Official Information Act.
Between 1 January 2018 and 31 August 2018, how many e-mails have you, in a ministerial capacity, sent or received through e-mail accounts that are not administered by The Parliamentary Service or The Department of Internal Affairs?
Yours faithfully,
David Farrar

Dear Winston Peters,
My OIA request of 7 September regarding e-mail communications has not yet had a response, so is in breach of the statutory 20 day maximum time limit.
Can you please advise why no response has been sent, and when I will receive a response.
Yours faithfully,
David Farrar
Sent request to Winston Peters again.

Winston Peters
Dear correspondent
On behalf of Rt Hon Winston Peters, thank you for your email.
While the Deputy Prime Minister considers all correspondence to be
important and all messages are carefully read and considered, it is not
possible to provide a personal response to every email which is received.
Where the Deputy Prime Minister has portfolio responsibility for the
issues that you have raised, your correspondence will be considered and
responded to where appropriate.
Thank you for taking the time to write.
(Please note that this acknowledgement is an automatically generated
email.)
Regards
Office of Rt Hon Winston Peters

I don't agree that re-scoping the request would be onerous. They haven't supplied any figures to indicate the volume of emails received across, say, a week.
Another thought: it may be possible to determine the number of emails forwarded (or received in) the Mr Peter's ministerial inbox, sent from the private email account. it may be a proxy for the number of ministerial-related emails received via the private email address? Or would that proxy inadvertently include Parliamentary-related emails too?
Things to do with this request
- Add an annotation (to help the requester or others)
- Download a zip file of all correspondence

We are sorry for the trouble. An email delivery problem was recently brought to our attention which affected this request, hence the re-send above.
