Internal compliance with HSWA mental health provisions

Jem Traylen made this Official Information request to WorkSafe New Zealand

The request was successful.

From: Jem Traylen

Tena kotou WorkSafe New Zealand,

I am developing a research project on the compliance by State Sector agencies with the HSWA, particularly the new requirements regarding mental health.

At this stage I am looking to see what a few agencies may have done with updating their health and safety programmes in response to the new legislation and identify potential models of good practice.

I thought that your own agency, for obvious reasons, would no doubt aim to be a model of excellent practice in your own work environments. I intend to ask the State Services Commission and The Treasury after I receive your response.

Would you, therefore, please provide the key documents or staff training materials which describe your internal policy changes, and likewise any key documents or reports on the performance of these new policies?

I would be happy to clarify any aspect of the above if it is not clear or is potentially difficult to collate.

My expectation is that it is a relatively straightforward request which should be easily completed within 20 working days but please let me know if you anticipate any difficulties.

Yours faithfully,

Mx Jem Traylen
Rainbow Wellington
