I acknowledge receipt of your email of 19 June 2018 to GNS Science
requesting the following information under the Official Information Act
1982 for “all information relating to, or provided by, Thompson and Clark
Private Investigations between the years 2014-2018 held by your agency”.

 

Please note that GNS Science has never accepted a business proposal from
Thompson and Clark and has no commercial arrangement or other relationship
with them.

 

The information requested is in the attached documents:

Names and contact details have been redacted under Sct 9(2)(a) of the
Official Information Act to protect the privacy of the people involved.

 

Certain information in one email (24 August 2017) has been withheld under
Sct 9(2)(b) as disclosure would unreasonably prejudice the commercial
position of Thompson and Clark.

 

In addition, a commercial proposal from Thompson and Clark to GNS Science
has been withheld under Sct 9(2)(ba)(i), Sct 9(2)(ba)(ii), and Sct
9(2)(b)(ii) .

o The proposal contains confidential information and making it available
would likely prejudice the suppliers of similar information to GNS
Science, for example, the provision by suppliers of other proposals.
o It is in the public interest that GNS is able to operate procurement
functions by making competitive tenders, or be likely to receive
service proposals from potential suppliers.
o The proposal contains commercially sensitive information, the
disclosure of which would unreasonably prejudice Thompson & Clark’s
commercial position.
