The request was successful.
From: Q. Lee
Dear University of Auckland,
Please confirm whether or not a B+ average (6.0 GPA) across a degree (graduate category) / first year of study (first year category) is required for consideration of RRAS, MAPAS and UTAS applicants to the MBChB programme.
If a 6.0 GPA is not required, please provide details of what GPA is required for interview consideration for all three special entry schemes indicated above.
Yours faithfully,

University of Auckland
Dear Q. Lee,
I refer to your request of 6 June 2018. The University’s response follows.
Please confirm whether or not a B+ average (6.0 GPA) across a degree
(graduate category) / first year of study (first year category) is
required for consideration of RRAS, MAPAS and UTAS applicants to the MBChB
programme.
If a 6.0 GPA is not required, please provide details of what GPA is
required for interview consideration for all three special entry schemes
indicated above.
RRAS
As stated on the University’s website:
· The selection processes and minimum requirements for RRAS
applicants are identical to the general MBChB admissions, though RRAS
applicants are ranked separately for interview consideration and final
offer of place
· First year entry via BHSc/BSc Biomedical Sciences pathway into
the MBChB programme requires a minimum GPA of 6 (B+ average) across 8
courses in order to be eligible for consideration for interview.
· Graduates who achieve a minimum of GPA 6 (B+ average) across an
undergraduate degree completed on a full-time basis from any New Zealand
university are eligible for consideration for an interview. Where an
applicant has completed more than 3 years full-time, the best 3 years will
be considered in GPA calculations.
MAPAS and other UTAS
MAPAS and other UTAS schemes for the MBChB programme do not have minimum
GPA requirements for interview consideration that are set in advance. The
minimum GPA for interview consideration for these entry schemes is decided
for each yearly intake based on the number of applicants and their GPAs
(calculated using the grades available at the time).
Yours sincerely
Rebecca Ewert
