Dear New Zealand Police,
Hi Deb,
I'm going to send this back as not answered. and request that it be answered correctly.
Can you please read and fully understand the question, which is...
Was an inventory of items seized for the ten firearms issued in
accordance with section 133 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012?
Please note the section stating, in accordance with section 133 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012
Your answer just states that an inventory was completed, not whether it was in accordance with section 133 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 or not.
I would have thought legal services would have at least looked up the act and found out what are the requirements of section 133 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 and then studied the case file to make a determination as to whether the seized firearms were done in accordance with section 133 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012 or not.
Can you please discuss this with legal services and confirm or deny if in fact the inventory of items seized for the ten firearms was issued in accordance with section 133 of the Search and Surveillance Act 2012
Yours faithfully,
Malcolm Lock
New Zealand Police
Dear Malcolm
Thank you for your request below.
On behalf of Police please accept my apology for the delay in
acknowledging and responding to your request below, however I have been
advised there has been a breakdown in some email requests not reaching the
designated Police District for a prompt response and unfortunately your
request appears to be one of these.
Police recognise the urgency in providing a substantive response to
your request which is now outside the statutory twenty day timeframe and
we will respond to you as soon as possible.
I would greatly appreciate if you could confirm what Police email address
you sent this request to avoid any future delays and we can make necessary
improvements and review why this request and your previous request were
not received by Eastern District Police.
You have the right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman.
Yours sincerely
