Fireworks
James Lochead made this Official Information request to Auckland Council
Response to this request is long overdue. By law Auckland Council should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.
From: James Lochead
Dear Auckland Council,
The proposal to ban retail Fireworks in Auckland, by Cathy Casey.
Questions
1) Did any members presenting declare conflicts of interest?
2) Could I have a copy of any evidence presented?
3) Was this asking Auckland Council to Lobby the Government on their behalf or pass a bylaw banning their use in Auckland?
4) What was the outcome of balancing against the human rights act, right to celebrations as several communities from Auckland celebrate using fireworks as a national custom?
Yours faithfully,
James Lochead
Auckland Council
