Lost office Bagpack
Rashmi made this Official Information request to Auckland Transport
Auckland Transport did not have the information requested.
From: Rashmi
Dear Auckland Transport,
I travelled to city civic centre from bus ( 267) stop 8415 ( 445 Dominion Road ) at 7.54 am today 26 Jan 2016 and got down at Civic Centre Queen street Bus Stop at 8.20 Am. I was travelling with my baby in Pram and sited on opposite back side of door , where pram can fit in space.
After 5 Minuites I got off at the bus stop 7057 but as soon as I walked hardly 5 minutes from the stop then I realised that I had left my bag pack in bus. I went back to bus stop to track the bus but there was no bus , there was another 267 bus I have asked did you see my bag in bus I just left it few minutes before . he said this is just starting so nothing there will be another Bus in which you left.
I have also called bus lines (Metro link ) ( Mount Roskil , CITY and Onuhunga) and reported and went Onuhunga Bus depot to check if someone reported back . However I feel so these thing may not give much result. So I am sincerely asking that if you can check the security cameras in the bus and also the security cameras at civic bus stop , I know it much work to ask you do check for my bagpack but that bag has things like my office laptop and my wallet with my if proof , my glasses , medicine. These things are very important for me., I am very stressed because of that not sure I’ll get those back. If you are unable to track this request then I understand but I am sincerely hope you consider my request as believe this may be only chance to get my bag back.
Bag: Black , Workday ( written )
I was wearing black flower jacket with baby in Black Pram
Boarded Bus at 7.54 am from Dominion road bus top (8415)
Time : 8.20 am to 8.35 AM City Civic center
Yours faithfully,
Rashmi

Dear Auckland Transport and Luke
I have made the complaint in this site since I have found similar requests made by others too. I am not reporting this related to the insurance process. The items which I lost include some identification details and hence I need to report it to the Authorities so that they ensure that it is tracked in the Police database.
I have already had a call with AT transport and they have not been able to help me with the driver details even though I provided the exact time I disembarked from the bus at the last stop (Civic Centre) at 8.17 am by the bus: 267 as per my Hop Card. It seems the Hop card does not capture the actual bus details which is slightly surprising me.I would need some basic help so that I can then contact the driver.
In few minutes since I got off the bus, the bus actually started off and I could not again find the bus. Hence I would need some assistance with the footage inside the bus to check what happened with my bag. Please note that the bag was left back in a public transport at the last stop only. There could be something which the AT or the driver can help me.
Note that I am travelling in the AT bus with my 1 year old kid on a pram and such support from AT and public authorities would help me in future safe travels with the AT bus. I am sure that the driver would have seen me with the pram holding my 1 year old son and also the only one with a baby.
This is the background of my request in this website and hopefully provides the context you are looking for.
Yours faithfully,
Rashmi

Thanks for the additional information.
Did you see the Auckland Transport webpage relating to lost property? It says you need to contact the provider who operate the bus services, not Auckland Transport.
Please see this link:

I suggest you contact the provide and give them the details include the time of offboarding. You could describe what the black bag looks like and what is in it.
Make sure they do thorough checks.

I'm surprised you are using this site to make your enquiry, rather than emailing Auckland Transport directly. I don't think there is that much public interest in your case involving your lost property.
But anyway, some thoughts:
1. Did you use a smartcard, e.g. AT HOP card to pay for your fare? If so, would that onboarding transaction recorded the bus number? (Not the route number, 267, but the bus number). This might help to identify the driver, and then the surpervisor can ask the driver if they picked up anything.
2. Make sure Auckland Transport look at their lost property bin and speak to the driver. Once they have done those checks and your property is not found, then you will have to file for insurance, or buy new items. You should insure glasses and laptops, at least.
