Good morning

I refer to your Official Information Act request of 27 November in which
you asked ‘if there were police visits to 141 Ensors Road Waltham
Christchurch between the dates 17/12/2016 – 5/11/2017. If so, please
advise what these visits were in relation to’. Your request is being
actioned in accordance with the provisions of the Official Information Act
1982.

However it is necessary to establish your eligibility to request the
information you have sought.

As you may know, section 12 of the legislation details who may make OIA
requests and in line with guidance issued by the Office of the Ombudsman,
an agency such as Police “is entitled to ask reasonable questions to check
whether you are an eligible requester” (Making official information

requests: A guide for requesters [2016], accessible at
[1]http://www.ombudsman.parliament.nz/syste...)

Police requests that you provide supporting information as to eligibility,
such as your New Zealand postal address, personal email address indicating
a NZ domain, or any identity documentation. I would be happy to receive
further information by post or email.

We also require evidence to show you were the owner or tenancy manager of
the property for the timeframe you have specified.

We will reinitiate the process of responding to your request under the OIA
once you have clarified your eligibility to make such request under the
legislation and provided evidence of ownership/management of the specified
property. If not, we will treat the request as withdrawn.

Kind regards

Ali
