Subject: Official Information request - MSD Minister’s knowledge of illegal actions at MSD WINZ

Dear Ministry of Social Development,

I have discovered WINZ MSD have been using both false documents and forgery as outlinned in the Crimes Act 1961 ss255, 256(2) and 257.

I understand the Social Security Appeal Authority has deemed the practice illegal as does thenCrimes Act 1961. It seems the head of WINZ MSD refuses to comply with the Social Security Appeal Authority in ceasing the use of fake names and releasing real names.

It seems the head of WINZ MSD claims he refuses to comply citng staff safety. Where is his concern for client health and safety as is required of him whilst dealing with his staff?

My formal requests are as follows:
1. Was Paula Bennett aware of this happening during her time as Minister of Social Development?

2. Is the current Minister of MSD aware of these criminal acts being committed by MSD staff?
