Dear University of Otago,

The current restructure of the School of Physical Education, Sport and Exercise Sciences, being lead by Pro-Vice Chancellor (Sciences) Professor Richard Barker, has been mired in controversy, has lacked integrity and direction, and has been wholly-mismanaged, leaving staff and students confused and distressed about the future of their School and Degrees.

Under the Official Information Act 1982, I am requesting all documents that the University of Otago ("University") holds that discuss the Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) relating specifically to the School of Physical Education, Sport and Exercise Sciences.

SWOT Analysis has been requested by staff but has not been produced or made available by Prof Richard Barker and those leading this restructure of the School. This should be made available so that it can be seen that these changes will indeed meet the needs of the School.

Dear Mr Stadnyk,

Professor Barker is unaware of any request regarding a SWOT analysis and as far as I can ascertain no such document exists. Nevertheless, I am providing the rationale for decisions that were made around staffing levels as outlined in the two attached documents.
