Relationship between NZ Police and the "Foundation for a Drug-Free World" / Scientology

Mark Honeychurch made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police

The request was successful.

From: Mark Honeychurch

Dear New Zealand Police,

I have read on a Scientology website (drugfreeworld.org) that at least one policeman (Sergeant Gregory Lexmond) is distributing drug information pamphlets from the Church of Scientology - via their organisation "Foundation for a Drug-Free World":

http://www.drugfreeworld.org/newsletter/...

I am interested in the nature of the relationship between Scientology and NZ Police. Please could I be given a summary of any connection/relationship NZ Police have with Scientology and any of their affiliated organisations. A couple of lists of these related organisations can be seen here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Sc...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narconon#S...

Please could I also be given a copy of any communication (emails, written notes, etc) between NZ Police and members of the Church of Scientology and their associated organisations.

I can confirm that I am a New Zealand citizen, and therefore eligible to make OIA requests.

Yours faithfully,

Mark Honeychurch
