Outrageous Fortune and Westside.
James Scott made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police
The request was partially successful.
From: James Scott
Dear New Zealand Police,
Please disclose any communications and/or consultation between South Pacific Pictures (or any representative thereof) and New Zealand Police about the content of the following shows:
- Outrageous Fortune
- Westside
Both shows ran (or run) storylines that portray elements of corruption, misuse of power, brutality and harrassment within your organisation. Anecdotally speaking these storylines are a true reflection of behaviour of some individuals within New Zealand Police and I am interested to what level Police were consulted and/or objected to and/or influenced these storylines on these shows.
Yours faithfully,
James.
New Zealand Police
Dear Mr Scott
I acknowledge receipt of your Official Information Act (OIA) request,
received by NZ Police on 17 April 2020.
As you are aware, Police are needing to redeploy staff in the face of
unprecedented circumstances as we respond to Covid-19. This will have a
severe impact on our ability to respond to requests for information under
the OIA in a timely fashion. We will do our best to respond to you as soon
as we can.
Thank you for your understanding.
Kind regards
Ministerial Services
