I am looking to understand the demographics of those seeking to apply, and being appointed, as Queen's Counsel.

For each of the last five Queen's Counsel appointment rounds, I would like to know the following information (broken down by appointment round).

1. In relation to applications, how many were received in total:

a. Male lawyers
b. Female lawyers

c. Individuals giving their address as within:
i. Auckland
ii. Wellington
iii. Other North Island address
iv. Christchurch
v. Dunedin
vi. Other South Island address

d. Individuals whose year of graduation with first legal qualification:
i. Before 1977
ii. 1977 - 1981
iii. 1982 - 1986
iv. 1987 - 1991
v. 1992 - 1996
vi. 1997 - 2001
vii. 2002 - 2006
viii. After 2006

3. In relation to appointments, how many were made in total;

I appreciate that, depending on how records are held by the Crown Law Office, this request may require some compilation or research. If it would assist the Crown Law Office in meeting my request I would be happy to discuss extending time for the response.
