Request for Information to WCC about the Local Government Commission Reorganisation of Wellington Transport
Tony Randle made this Official Information request to Wellington City Council
Response to this request is long overdue. By law Wellington City Council should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.
From: Tony Randle
Dear Wellington City Council,
During 2016, the Local Government Commission made some announcements about it’s “Strengthening the Wellington Region” regoranisation process (Ref http://www.lgc.govt.nz/the-reorganisatio...). Transport is an “Identified Priority Area” under this review (Ref: http://www.lgc.govt.nz/the-reorganisatio...).
I am interested in understanding the consultations and progress being made by this review.
1) Can I please have a copy of all meetings and/or presentations held in 2016 or 2017 with the Local Government Commission where the Transport Identified Priority Area was discussed ? This includes any meeting agenda’s, minutes, and any supporting reports/presentations.
2) Can I please have a copy of all reports received from the Local Government Commission in 2016 or 2017 where the Transport Identified Priority Area was discussed ?
3) Can I please have a copy of all reports received provided to the Local Government Commission in 2016 or 2017 where the Transport Identified Priority Area was discussed ?
4) Can I please have a copy of all correspondence with the Local Government Commission since January 2016 where the Transport Identified Priority Area was discussed ?
If this information is held in electronic form, I would prefer it was provided in its complete and original electronic format. I would also prefer all correspondence to be via the FYI web site unless there is a compelling reason for private communications.
Yours faithfully,
Tony Randle

Hello Mr Randle,
Thank you for the below request.
I have spoken with the relevant Council Officers and have been advised that we do not hold correspondence. Meetings were attended and presentations seen, but these were not circulated for retention.
You would be best speaking directly with the Local Government Commission. Are you okay to approach them directly, or do you want me to refer your request?
Kind regards
Chris

Dear Chris Brown,
Thank you for the WCC response. Can I at least have a copy of the dates, times, agendas and minutes of the meetings held with LGNZ as held by the WCC please ?
I would also appreciate the WCC referring my request onto LGNZ for the rest of the requested information.
Yours sincerely,
Tony Randle

Hello Tony,
Thank you for your patience.
I have spoken with the Local Government Commission, who advise me that they are not bound by LGOIMA or the OIA. Sorry, this came after I had referred your request to them.
They advised that I would be best seeking Luke Troy's input from Greater Wellington.
I have since spoken with Mr Troy, who advises that he has responded to an identical request from yourself. He has forwarded me the response he sent.
I can confirm that the Council holds no other information, apart from possibly meeting invites (and agendas if they were attached). I will ask for these to be searched for.
Kind regards
Chris

Dear Chris Brown,
In your last response to this information request you stated:
"I can confirm that the Council holds no other information, apart from possibly meeting invites (and agendas if they were attached). I will ask for these to be searched for."
Can you please provide the WCC substantive response to this information request. I also ask that the WCC respond individually to the each of the four components of the information that was requested ?
Yours sincerely,
Tony Randle
