My request is for the following information:

All correspondence between Residents and Councillors, the Mayor and/or Staff in relation to prostitution in Christchurch.

For the purposes of the Act, I am a New Zealand citizen and residing in New Zealand at the time of making this request. You generally have 20 working days to respond to this notice, as required by law. Your response will be published publicly on the fyi.org.nz website.

Thank you for your response.

 

Unfortunately, while your refinement is of some use, the information you
have requested would require staff to search through a very large amount
of information. The Council does not hold all correspondence on matters
such as prostitution in a central location. In addition, your request has
no specific timeframe, which would include all complaints ever received by
the Council.  Could you please provide further refinement to your request?
At this point your request would most likely be refused as it would
require substantial collation and research.

This request is not overdue as per Section 13(7) of the LGOIMA, which states:

"If a request (the original request) is amended or clarified after the date on which it is received, the local authority that receives the request may treat the amended or clarified request as a new request that, for the purposes of subsection (1), replaces the original request."

The new due date would be 24 May 2017.
