Council Response
When are the expected works due to start in Sockburn Park to clear the old
paddling pool and BBQ area (NB: according to CCC this work was supposed to
be completed by the end of 2018)

At this stage, timeframes are unknown. Sockburn Park has been identified
as a contaminated site under Environment Canterbury’s Listed Land Use
Register. In order to determine the best management of the existing
paddling pool area removal, Council have commissioned a detailed site
investigation to determine the process of removal.
What was the reason for holes to be dug in Sockburn Park in April 2019?

The holes that have been dug at Sockburn Park in April 2019 are part of
Council’s contractor completing a detailed site investigation at Sockburn
 Park as mentioned above.
