Dear Chris Brown,

The WCC is now building the revised Hutt Road Cycleway. Any chance that you can find an officer who has a copy of the designs ?

Given the LONG delay and lack of follow-up can the WCC please respond promptly to this information request ?

Yours sincerely,

Tony Randle

Hello Tony,

Thank you for the phone conversation yesterday.

Please find the Hutt Road Cycleway plans attached.

The budget for the Northern corridor cycle improvements which includes the Hutt Road Cycleway and Thorndon Quay is $9million. The Hutt Road cycleway is estimated at $4.5million. This includes the upgrade of streetlights which is currently underway and cycleway improvements which have just started. The section of cycleway approved for construction between Aotea Quay and Caltex is estimated to cost $2million.

Kind regards

Chris

Dear Chris Brown,

Thank you for the prompt response following my phone call.

My request asks for the following:

1) Can I please have a copy of the design documents being used to build the Hutt Cycleway ?

2) Can I please have a copy of the Cost Estimates and budget being used to build the Hutt Cycleway ?

3) Can I please have a copy of the Project Plan (including project schedule) being used to build the Hutt Cycleway ?

Thank you for a copy of the plans. However, I would note that the plans provided do not include the marked dimensions for any widths (footpath, cycleway, parking, road lane, etc.). The discussion on corridor width allcoation is a key part of the Hutt Road Cycleway plans. Can the WCC please provide a copy of the Hutt Road Cycleway plans that include the footpath, cycleway, parking, road lane, etc. widths along the Hutt Road corridor ?

I also asked for a copy of the "Cost Estimates and budget being used to build the Hutt Cycleway " but this documentation is yet to be provided. Can you please outline when this requested information can be provided ?

Hello Tony,

Please find further information from Stephen Harte on the Hutt Road Cycleway, as follows:

There are four reports on our website for the Hutt Road cycleway reference http://transportprojects.org.nz/current/... that explain or have a majority of the information referred to your request. The four documents are: Business Case, Hutt Road Committee Report and minutes and Hutt Road Sustainable Transport Report.

Also attached is a plan showing the dimensions of the path to be built and a copy of the construction schedule. Please note we are behind schedule and have introduced a second construction crew in an attempt to bring construction back on track.

The value of construction contract we are working to is $2.1million plus contingency and we have all but completed the lighting contract which was worth $900,000. These contracts are currently being worked on and the Council considers the make-up of them to be commercially sensitive, certainly at this point in time, so I cannot release the rates. The project estimates are in the Business document on the web site.

If you need further clarification please come back to me.

Kind regards.

And a bit more - sorry for the piecemeal approach.

A follow up report to Committee and the minutes to that meeting can be found at the following web address https://wellington.govt.nz/your-council/...

For easy reference the report and minutes are attached.

Also attached is a parking survey commissioned by the Council to inform the report referred to above.

No changes to parking have yet been made as a result of the survey or report to Committee.

Kind regards
