Thank you for your request for information of 18 January 2017 relating to
daily rail patronage data at each station for the whole of 2016.

 

The information you are seeking is overly broad and under Section 10(2) of
the LGOIMA a request for information must be specified with due
particularity.  As Auckland Transport does not record single day
transactions for normal business purposes, the amount of collation
involved would be considerable and Auckland Transport proposes that your
request be refused under Section 17(f) Auckland Transport based on
substantial collation and research being required to provide the requested
information.

 

However in accordance with our obligation under Section 17B of the LGOIMA,
as an alternative to refusing your request under section 17(f) of the Act,
we would ask that you refine your request and reduce the amount of
information you are seeking.

 

The following information is able to be made available without incurring
costs for collation in excess of 5 hours or refusing the request under
17(f):

 

·         Each month’s HOP data by station showing HOP tag-on, HOP tag-off
and paper ticket sales; or

·         Alternatively, the station-to-station origin/destination matrix
by month, including the alighting station for paper ticket sales.

 

Please confirm which of the above would be sufficient to resolve your
request.

 

Your request will remain on hold and if the information is not provided
within 20 working days your request will be closed.             

 

We trust this information has clarified the process however you have the
right in accordance with section 27(3) of the Local Government Official
Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA) to make a complaint to the
Office of the Ombudsman if you are not satisfied with our response.
