I am requesting the reasons why the 111 Emergency calling service failed on the night of 14 November 2016 and what steps are being taken to remedy this and ensure that it does not happen in future in accordance with the Official Information Act 1982.

Can you please confirm that there is only one location active at any given time that is receiving said 111 calls (except in the event of an emergency, where they are re-routed to Porirua)?

Hello, Cody,

                        thank you for your follow-up question last
Thursday in relation to our response 1617-0612, asking the Ministry to:  …
confirm that there is only one location active at any given time that is
receiving said 111 calls (except in the event of an emergency, where they
are re-routed to Porirua)?

 

I’m advised the current situation is that Spark has 111 emergency calls
being answered in Wellington (Porirua) and Christchurch (Police Regional
HQ), plus the standby site is available in Palmerston North.
