Full definition of "person" - Interpretation Act
Andre made this Official Information request to Ministry of Justice
The request was refused by Ministry of Justice.
From: Andre
Dear Ministry of Justice,
What is the full definition of "person" as contained in the Interpretation Act? The Act states that person includes a corporation sole, a body corporate, and an unincorporated body. Is there any other legislative reference within this Act which alters the definition of "person" from a corporation sole, a body corporate, and an unincorporated body?
I am a law abiding citizen and as such only require the specific facts as requested. I specifically request no opinions be given.
Yours faithfully,
Andre

If as you state:
person includes a corporation sole, a body corporate, and an unincorporated body.
You need to comprehend the use of the word 'includes'.
"inclusio unius est exclusio alterius" - a rule of interpretation that states that ‘including one excludes another’.
My understanding of 'person' as defined within the act is:
A Corporation sole exclusively and would exclude men and women.
