Dear Accident Compensation Corporation,
Further to assessor safety concerns
You make reference to a request dated 8 April 2013 that copies of submissions had been provided to the Ombudsman. And pursuant of 2(1)(i) therefore you would not release this information. In the interest of transparency to public interest would the ACC please provide the following
1/ Copy of letter sent to Ombudsman as part of investigation to safety concern submission. And where required in the interest of further privacy or safety concerns, redact any names of assessor’s or parties that may be identified as part of submission in question.
With reference to your reply dated 22 February 2013 to Question 3 and subsequent reply to decline on privacy and outweighing public interest, In the interest of transparency to any public interest would the ACC please provide the following
2/ Provide a copy of submission in way of redacted disclosure
3/ And if the ACC decline the above (2/) based on privacy and/or safety, would the ACC consult with those concerned and ask authorising its release or non-release and provide proof of consult without identifying its writers.
With reference to the reply dated 22 February 2013 the ACC declining to provide the proof that an approach was made to the New Zealand Police regarding death threats to a number of assessors’ and their families etc.
The New Zealand Police, as stated within a reply made in this website, they cannot disclose this information as they do not keep such record nor are aware of any such complaint. Therefore, In the interest of transparency to any public interest would the ACC please provide the following
4/ Date letter of concerns and/or complaint made to New Zealand Police regarding statement in initial letter of decline

With reference to redaction, and no offence intended to the reader, this is explained below:

The objective with this request is purely based on obtaining transparency and reinforcing integrity where the Corporation is concerned with such serious matters etc.
I.e. proof of police involvement, and submissions put forward by assessors to the Corporation that were considered and subsequently used for Justification with initial refusal based on safety grounds.
I reiterate references to identity of any individual or business to be redacted.
