Number of Cases in relation to Section 78 of the Care of Children Act 2004

Dear Ministry of Justice,

What are the numbers of cases though the jurisdiction of all courts, where Section 78 of the Care of Children act has being tried.

Please provide detailed information in regards to the above question, including -
Number of Cases tried, with a break down of what court it was tried in (High, District, Family etc) Gender breakdown of those accused, Gender breakdown of those convicted. Number of prison sentences resulting from conviction, including a gender breakdown, and average sentance. number of fines issued resulting from conviction, including a gender breakdown, and average fine.

78 - Contravening parenting or guardianship order
(1)A person commits an offence who, without reasonable excuse, intentionally—
(a)contravenes—
(i)a parenting order; or
(ii)a guardianship order made under section 40 or 46R; or
(b)prevents compliance with—
(i)a parenting order; or
(ii)a guardianship order made under section 40 or 46R.
(2)A person who commits an offence under subsection (1) is liable on conviction to—
(a)a term of imprisonment not exceeding 3 months; or
(b)a fine not exceeding $2,500.
(3)Nothing in this section limits the power of a court to punish a person for contempt of court.
Section 78: replaced, on 31 March 2014, by section 21 of the Care of Children Amendment Act (No 2) 2013 (2013 No 74).
