Thank you for contacting Official Information
We’ve reviewed the scope of your request and, as currently framed, it is
very broad and contains a high volume of information.
In order to respond, we would need to undertake substantial collation
and/or research. Under section 17(f) of the Local Government Official
Information and Meetings Act 1987, we may refuse a request if the
information cannot be made available without such collation or research.
Before considering refusal or applying a charge, we’d like to offer you
the opportunity to refine your request.
This could involve narrowing down the number of Local Board areas,
specifically to one or two that you are particularly interested in
Please let us know by 18.06.2026 whether you would like to refine your
request. If we don’t hear from you, we may proceed to consider whether a
charge is appropriate or whether the request should be refused under
section 17(f).
Please note, any clarification or amendment of a request is a new request
for the purpose of calculating the maximum statutory timeframe for
response—see section 13(7) of the LGOIMA
If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Ngâ mihi,
The Privacy & Official Information team

Auckland Council
Dear J Turner,
Further to our acknowledgement below we require more time to respond to
your request.
We are currently still collating and processing information for your
request. Therefore, Auckland Council is extending the time limit for
responding to your request under section 14 of the Local Government
Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA). We will reply to your
request by 24 July 2026. Please note this is a maximum response time and
we will endeavour to respond sooner.
The reasons for this extension are
· The request is for a large quantity of information or
necessitates a search through a large quantity of information and meeting
the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with the operation of
Auckland Council.
· Consultations necessary to make a decision on the request are
ongoing and a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made
within the original time limit.
Please note you have the right to request a review of this extension from
the Ombudsman.
