Thank you for your information request dated 17^th February 2022, for a
breakdown of Development Contributions by local board area

 

The specific details of your request and our response are below.

 

 a. Please provide a breakdown of the amount of general and targeted rates
revenue received for the 2020/21 financial year by each Local Board
area, corresponding to the total revenue from rates of $1,986m shown
in the 2020/21 annual report. [$1,742m general Rates and $233m
targeted rates].
 b. Please also provide a breakdown of Development Contributions by local
board area, shown as totalling $226m in the annual report.
 c. Please also provide the number of rating units for each Local Board
area for 2020 (the base used for the 2020/21 financial year), shown as

In response to section (b)

 

Development contributions are not calculated by local board areas, instead
they’re determined from independent project funding areas. Some of these
funding areas over-lap multiple local boards so it’s not possible to
assign them using that scale.  Please find attached the funding areas maps
for all the activities from the 2019 policy.

 

In response to sections (a) and (c)

 

Attached is a table showing the 2020/21 rates charged broken down by local
board, general and targeted rates. Rates figures are EX GST, and do not
include retrofit loan repayments, crown infrastructure repayments, or
rates on Council owned properties. The Regional Local board are utility
rating units that are in multiple board areas, i.e., railways, and power
providers.
