Dear New Zealand Police,

I am writing under the Official Information Act 1982 to request the following information relating to New Zealand Police operations, fleet assets, staffing, and public access to Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
Please provide the following information as at the most recent date available:
1. Police Vehicle Fleet
* The total number of vehicles operated by New Zealand Police.
* A breakdown of vehicles by operational use, including but not limited to:
* Frontline response vehicles
* Road policing vehicles
* Detective vehicles
* Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) vehicles
* Crime Scene Examination vehicles
* Armed Offenders Squad vehicles
* Dog Unit vehicles
* Search and Rescue vehicles
* Community policing vehicles
* Administrative/support vehicles
* Any other categories used by New Zealand Police.
2. Frontline Police Staffing
* The current number of sworn frontline police officers employed by New Zealand Police.
3. Taser Certification
* The number of police officers currently certified and authorised to carry and deploy a Taser.
4. AEDs in Police Vehicles
* The number of police vehicles equipped with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
* The make and model of AED currently used by New Zealand Police.
* A breakdown of the make and model of all AED units deployed throughout the New Zealand Police system, including those installed in vehicles, police stations, and any other police facilities.
* Any policy or criteria used to determine which vehicles are equipped with AEDs.
5. Police Stations
* The total number of police stations and police facilities operating within New Zealand.
* The number of police stations that have an AED available on site.
* The make and model of AED units located at police stations and police facilities, where recorded.
* The number of police stations that are staffed or manned 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
6. Publicly Accessible AEDs at Police Stations
* Of those police stations that are not staffed 24 hours per day, the number that have an AED available to the public in an externally accessible secure cabinet or similar arrangement.
* Where available, a list of the stations with publicly accessible AEDs and the locations of those AEDs.
If any part of this request is likely to require substantial collation or research, I would appreciate the opportunity to refine the request before any decision to refuse it is made.
I would prefer to receive the information electronically.
