From: Mash
Dear Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand,
Tēnā koutou,
I am submitting a request under the Official Information Act 1982 regarding a helicopter incident I personally witnessed.
Between 2020 and 2022, my wife and I observed a helicopter descend and hover directly over the backyard of a residence at 71 The Avenue, Pareora. The property belongs to the daughter of Robert John Keenan, who also resides nearby. The event was unusual and concerning, and I am seeking to understand the nature of this activity.
Could you please provide the following information:
1. Whether any helicopter flight plans, landings, or hover operations were logged over or near 71 The Avenue, Pareora during that time period.
2. The operator and purpose of the flight (e.g., medical, police, private charter, agricultural, surveillance).
3. Any incident reports, complaints, or investigations associated with helicopter activity in that area.
I am making this request due to ongoing safety concerns involving Robert John Keenan and his daughter, both of whom have demonstrated aggressive behavior toward me. I am currently pursuing protective and legal avenues and believe this information may be relevant to those efforts.
Please let me know if you require further details or clarification.
Ngā mihi,
MASH
Pareora, South Canterbury
Yours faithfully, Mash
