Dear New Zealand Transport Agency,
I request copies of the most recent “Public Attitudes to Road Safety” survey reports published by NZTA.
I note that the last publicly available report covers April–June 2024, and these surveys were typically published quarterly. I would therefore appreciate copies of any subsequent quarterly reports from July–September 2024 onwards, including the most recent available for 2025.
Yours faithfully,

Dear Ministerial Services,
Thank you for your response confirming that the Public Attitudes to Road Safety quarterly survey has been replaced by the Road User Safety Monitor Annual Report.
I’d like to make a subsequent request under the OIA for any documents that set out:

2. The reasons for subsequently discontinuing the quarterly reporting and moving back to an annual cadence with the Road User Safety Monitor Annual Report.
3. The dates when each of these decisions was made.
4. The expected benefits, risks, or impacts of the changes.
Yours sincerely,
Dale

From: Dale
Dear Ministerial Services
Thank you for your response. Your reply provides a narrative explanation of the reasons for the changes to the Public Attitudes to Road Safety Survey’s reporting cadence. However, my request was specifically for *documents* that set out:
1. the reasons for shifting from annual to quarterly reporting,
2. the reasons for returning to annual reporting,
3. the dates these decisions were made, and
4. the expected benefits, risks, or impacts of these changes.
Your response did not identify or release any documents, nor did it state whether documents exist, whether any are being withheld (and under which sections of the OIA), or whether any part of my request is refused.
To avoid any ambiguity, I am requesting again that you provide the actual documents that record the above matters, or alternatively advise:
- whether such documents are held,
- if they are being withheld in full or in part, and the grounds under the OIA for doing so, or
- if they do not exist.
Please treat this as a clarification request in relation to my original OIA, not a new request.
In addition, I note that information you advised would be released in November (ref OIA 20013) has not been provided, and we are now in December. Please confirm the status of that release and provide the outstanding material without further delay.
Yours sincerely,
Dale
