Dear University of Auckland,
Under the Official Information Act 1982, I request the following information for each year from 2019 to 2025:
1. All students (domestic and international) applying for the Bachelor of Nursing
a. The number of students who applied for admission to the Bachelor of Nursing programme.
b. The number of students who were accepted into the Bachelor of Nursing programme.
2. International school leavers applying for the Bachelor of Nursing
a. The number of international school leavers who applied for admission to the Bachelor of Nursing programme.
b. The number of international school leavers who were accepted into the Bachelor of Nursing programme.
3. Other international students applying for the Bachelor of Nursing
a. The number of international students (other than school leavers, such as those who completed a foundation programme or other qualification) who applied for admission to the Bachelor of Nursing programme.
b. The number of these international students who were accepted into the Bachelor of Nursing programme.
For clarity, international school leaver refers to an international student who has attended a New Zealand secondary school and is enrolling in the first year of the Bachelor of Nursing degree.

necessary to make a decision on your request are such that a response
cannot reasonably be given within the original time limit, the University
has extended the time limit for your request until 3 December 2025 under
section 15A(1)(b) of the OIA. We will respond to your request as soon as
reasonably practicable.

a. The number of international students (other than school leavers, such
as those who completed a foundation programme or other qualification) who
applied for admission to the Bachelor of Nursing programme.
b. The number of these international students who were accepted into the
Bachelor of Nursing programme.
You can derive this information from the information attached.
4. For Bachelor of Nursing admission, please provide the lowest, median,
and highest rank scores of accepted international school leaver applicants
for each year from 2019 to 2025 (if available).
For clarity, international school leaver refers to an international
student who has attended a New Zealand secondary school and is enrolling
in the first year of the Bachelor of Nursing degree.
We have interpreted ‘accepted’ as those applicants that were offered a
place and proceeded to enrol in the programme.
The information requested relates to groups of applicants with fewer than
seven students, therefore, the requested information is withheld under
section 9(2)(a) of the OIA to protect their privacy.
You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
