Dear Fire and Emergency New Zealand,

I Would like to obtain the following information/policies:

- Regarding the wearing of FENZ issued uniforms such as FENZ issued Soft Shell jackets, T shirts, hats and FENZ labeled. (Including, when and where uniform/clothing could be worn)

- When (volunteers) attending incidents prior to Fire Emergency New Zealand personnel arrival. Are they apart of FENZ or a private citizen?

- Rules and regulations around Fire Emergency New Zealand white fleet vehicles being used for personal use. And FENZ employed members who are also volunteers responding to station in their white fleet vehicle.

- Rules and Regulations regarding FENZ personnel driving under lights and sirens both in white fleet and red fleet vehicles.

Thank you for your request of 21 August 2025, requesting the following
information:

 

o I Would like to obtain the following information/policies:

Section 12 of the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) provides that
requests may only be made by:

 

o a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
o a person who is in New Zealand
o a body corporate that is either incorporated in New Zealand; or
o a body corporate that has a place of business in New Zealand

 

For Fire and Emergency to consider your request as one under the OIA, can
you please provide evidence that you meet any of the criteria as noted in
section 12 so we can make a determination of your eligibility to make a
request under the OIA.

 

You may wish to provide any of the following:

 

o a copy of your New Zealand passport
o a copy of your New Zealand driver’s licence
o a copy of a recent utility bill (or other documentation addressed to
you) that evidences your residential address in New Zealand; or
o a copy of information that evidences you’re currently in New Zealand

New Zealand. In an email on the same day we wrote to you asking for you to
provide evidence that you meet the eligibility requirements as outlined in
section 12 of the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA).

 

As outlined in the OIA, eligibility to request information requires that
the requester be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, a person in
New Zealand, or a corporate entity incorporated in New Zealand or with a
place of business here. Unfortunately, we haven’t received your reply
providing the evidence necessary to establish your eligibility under these
criteria.

 

If you would like us to consider your request in the future, please
provide the required evidence of eligibility. Once this information is
