I would like to make a request under the Official Information Act of 1982 for the following information:

Crime statistics in Auckland City over the last five calendar years (including 2025 if possible) broken down by offense type (assault, dangerous driving, etc), location by district (Avondale, Auckland Central, etc) as well as time of day committed if available.

In addition, please provide information about the Police's definition of "alcohol-related".

I would be happy to have this data in either table or spreadsheet form.

Crime statistics in Auckland City over the last five calendar years

dangerous driving, etc), location by district (Avondale, Auckland Central,
etc) as well as time of day committed if available.

 

This information can be found using the publicly available reports on the
Police website:

You can access the data you are interested in by following these steps:

 

1.            Go to policedata.nz and select the Victimisations Time and
Place report.

2.            From the Victimisations Time and Place report, select the
tab labelled ‘Map’.

3.            Select the time period you require by moving the sliding bar
on ‘Select time Period’.

4.            Select the Region/Territorial Authority/Area Unit you are
interested in.

5.            Use Choose Crime Type/ANZSOC Group to filter results by
offence.

6.            You will find the information you requested by Hour and Day
of Week.

7.            Finally, you can download detailed information about these
data using the download icon at the bottom of the page and selecting
‘Data’.

 

In addition, please provide information about the Police's definition of
"alcohol-related".
