Operational email aliases used by ministerial roles
Marcus made this Official Information request to Public Service Commission
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Marcus to read a recent response and update the status.
From: Marcus
Dear Public Service Commission,
I'd like to know whether you are aware of any ministers that currently or historically have used operational email aliases.
It's apparently common practice in the United States for the sitting Attorney General to use an alias when conducting government business, to guard against security risks and so I'm curious to know if any of our ministerial roles use the same trick.
As an example; AG Merrick Garland used abraham.rose\@usdoj.gov as his email address during his tenture while AG Loretta Lynch had used elizabeth.carlisle\@usdoj.gov during her tenture.
With that, I'm interested in a list of ministerial roles (if any) that use operational email aliases.
If there are any roles, I would also like to know the various aliases used by previous holders of those roles. I don't expect to know aliases for current holders but I would like confirmation if one is actively being used in some capacity.
Yours faithfully,
Marcus

For anyone interested, I learned about AG's using operational aliases here: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/newslette...
I would be surprised if there actually are any aliases but it could be an interesting chunk of information to inform someone's future requests if there are.
I *think* the Public Service Commission would be most likely to know a broad question like that but I'm not entirely sure. I did consider asking the PM's office as well so please let me know if you have any better ideas.
