Sara Kaffenberger made this Official Information request to Christchurch City Council

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Sara Kaffenberger to read a recent response and update the status.

From: Sara Kaffenberger

Dear Christchurch City Council,

I would like to request all Citizenship Ceremony dates from February 2025 to December 2025.

Secondly, I would like to ask which of these ceremonies are already full and therefore, not possible to be allocated to for someone who lives in Christchurch and has just been granted Citizenship.

Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
SK

Tçnâ koe Sara,

On 22 January 2025, you requested the following information, under the
Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA):

I would like to request all Citizenship Ceremony dates from February 2025
to December 2025.

Secondly, I would like to ask which of these ceremonies are already full
and therefore, not possible to be allocated to for someone who lives in
Christchurch and has just been granted Citizenship.

I can confirm that as at 22 January 2025, citizenship ceremonies have only
been booked for the following dates:

o 10 February 2025
o 3 March 2025
o 31 March 2025

Please note that while Christchurch City Council organises the ceremonies,
the Council is not responsible for allocating candidates to ceremony
dates. This is the decision of the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA).

Ceremonies are by invitation only with invitations sent to new citizens by
the DIA. If you have a query regarding an upcoming ceremony, these should
be made to the DIA Citizenship Ceremonies Office by email
to [1][email address].

Due to this we will be transferring your request under section 12 of the
LGOIMA to the DIA, who will be better placed to answer your question
regarding ceremony allocation. Once this transfer has been accepted by the
DIA, we will send you formal notice of this transfer.

You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review our
decision. Complaints can be sent by email to
[2][email address].

Publication of responses to LGOIMA requests

Please note: our LGOIMA responses may be published on the Christchurch
City Council website a month after they have been responded to, with
requesters’ personal details withheld. If you have any concerns about
this, please contact the Official Information team on
[3][Christchurch City Council request email].
