On 3 March 2025, you requested the following information, under the Local
Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA):

 

I am writing to inquire about the scheduled dates for citizenship
ceremonies in Christchurch for the remainder of 2025.

 

I can confirm that as at 3 March 2025, citizenship ceremonies have been
booked for the following dates:

o Monday, 31 March 2025
o Wednesday, 30 April 2025
o Tuesday, 20 May 2025
o Monday, 16 June 2025

 

Please note that while Christchurch City Council organises the ceremonies,
the Council is not responsible for allocating candidates to ceremony
dates. This is the decision of the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA).

 

Ceremonies are by invitation only with invitations sent to new citizens by
the DIA. If you have a query regarding an upcoming ceremony, these should
be made to the DIA Citizenship Ceremonies Office by email

You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review our
decision. Complaints can be sent by email to

Publication of responses to LGOIMA requests

Please note: our LGOIMA responses may be published on the Christchurch
City Council website a month after they have been responded to, with
requesters’ personal details withheld. If you have any concerns about
this, please contact the Official Information team on
