Dear Christchurch City Council,

Can you provide a lot list the confirmed dates, time and venue for the upcoming citizenship ceremonies hosted by CCC from January 2026 and December 2026.

For each of the ceremonies, could you also please confirm the capacity provided by Christchurch City Council, noting that this capacity is then supplied to the Department of Internal Affairs for the purpose of allocating citizenship candidates.

Can you provide a list the confirmed dates, time and venue for the
upcoming citizenship ceremonies hosted by CCC from January 2026 and
December 2026.

 

Release of information

The dates of confirmed citizenship ceremonies for 2026 are listed below
for your information.

 

Waitangi Day 6 February

This ceremony is invite only at Nga Hau e Wha National Marae.

 

Tuesday 10 February

Christchurch Town Hall Douglas Lilburn Auditorium

6pm start

Maximum candidate number is 320

 

Monday 9 March

Christchurch Town Hall Douglas Lilburn Auditorium

6pm start

Maximum candidate number is 320

 

Monday 30 March

Christchurch Town Hall Douglas Lilburn Auditorium

6pm start

Maximum candidate number is 320
