I refer to your official information request received on 12 November 2024
for information on CCTV and ANPR Cameras operated by PN City Council.

 

Our response

Our Security Advisor provides the following information: 

 1. A list of all public facing CCTV cameras owned or operated by
Palmerston North City Council (PNCC) and Council Controlled
Organisations (CCOs) where possible.

The information requested is attached. We do not hold information about
CCTV cameras that are owned or operated by CCOs. 

 2. A list of all Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras owned
or operated by PNCC and CCOs where possible.

We do not own any automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras. Under
section 17(g) Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987,
your request for the information is refused as the information sought does
not exist.

 3. For each camera identified by requests 1 and 2, please include in a
spreadsheet the GPS coordinates, a description of the location, and
the brand and type of camera (e.g. Axis PTZ 360).
The attached information contains a description of the location for
each camera and the type of camera. We do not hold the GPS coordinates
or description of the brands of each camera. 
 4. A list of all planned public facing CCTV cameras to be installed by or
on behalf of PNCC and CCOs where possible.

Under section 17(g) of the Local Government Official Information and
Meetings Act 1987, your request for the information is refused as the
information sought does not exist.

 5. A list of all planned ANPR cameras to be installed by or on behalf of
PNCC and CCOs where possible.

Under section 17(g) of the Local Government Official Information and
Meetings Act 1987, your request for the information is refused as the
information sought does not exist.

 6. For each camera identified by requests 3 and 4, please include in a
spreadsheet the GPS coordinates of and/or a description of the planned
location, the brand and type of camera (e.g. Axis PTZ 360) to be
installed, and the planned installation date or timeframe if known.

Under section 17(g) of the Local Government Official Information and
Meetings Act 1987, your request for the information is refused as the
information sought does not exist.
