From: Daven Konrad Illenberger
Dear Auckland Council,
The Auckland anniversary flood brought man-made debris from Wairau Valley and scattered them throughout the Milford Mangroves Estuary.
Multiple community-lead cleanup operations have been conducted to clean up the plastic, metal and wood debris over the past 1.5 years.
Between the months of May 2024 - September 2024, the final stages of this cleanup were completed by multiple organisations who's funding was sourced from Individual Citizens, Devonport-Takapuna Local Board, Healthy Waters and Auckland Council.
The Milford Mariners Incorporated is a community group who's operations led these projects using their own resources and funding from Devonport-Takapuna Local Board.
The Pupuke Birdsong Group received funding from Healthy Waters and coordinated labor to conduct works.
Additionally, Downer Group was engaged by Auckland Council to conduct cleanup operations in the Milford Mangroves.
For the community groups involved, the funding provided requires supporting evidence to show how the money was spent on the project.
This request is for the value of money paid by Auckland Council to Downer Group (and any other associated parties) in relation to the cleanup of the Milford Mangroves.
This information will be helpful in providing evidence to community groups channels of funding justifications.
Yours faithfully,
Daven Konrad Illenberger
