Advice on recent Crown investments

Barry Garrick made this Official Information request to KiwiRail

Response to this request is long overdue. By law KiwiRail should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: Barry Garrick

Dear KiwiRail,

May I please have any advice/briefings/aide memoires to the Government prepared for the inclusion of Crown rail funding in Budget 2024? This should include, but is not limited to, any advice on funding needed for the 2024-27 rail network investment programme, the Auckland and Wellington metros, and track maintenance across the country.

I am particularly interested in what the outcomes are projected to be from the investments in budget 2024 and whether they match up with the NZ Rail Plan and the Government's commitment to a resilient and reliable network. So any materials that were given to any minister on the projected outcomes of potential levels of funding should be considered within scope please.

Yours faithfully,

Barry Garrick

Dear Dave,

Just wanted to check in on this request as the response is now late under the Act. Happy to receive an extension if necessary but just wanted to make sure a response is indeed in the works.

Good evening Barry

Very sorry for the late response - I'm waiting to hear from a couple of external agencies around the release of Budget documents - and had hoped to hear from them sooner.
Would probably be best to apply an extension as I'm unsure of a timeframe for their responses at the moment.

Cheers
Dave
