Average Wait Times of Outpatient Appointments
Mr Greene made this Official Information request to Ministry of Health
The request was successful.
From: Mr Greene
Dear Ministry of Health
I would like to request the longest, shortest, median and average wait times for outpatient- patients (referred by GPs to see a specialist (First appointment) at Wellington hospital over the last 12 months). Please provide the wait times data split by each specialty eg.your response should tell the wait times specifically for each specialty like number of days to see a Cardiologist or urologist or gynecologist etc.
If the Data exists please additionally provide the wait-times for GP referrals to the specialists at a national level as well, not just for wellington hospital.
Essentially updated and extended upon data to what was previously provided in this OIA
https://fyi.org.nz/request/14592-average...
Please let me know if anything requires clarification.
Yours faithfully,
Rob

This email is to let you know that Health NZ needs more time to make a
decision on your request.
The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our
decision, to 12 September 2024.
This extension is required because the volume of information is such that
a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time
limit.
If you have any questions, please contact us
at [2][email address]
If you are not happy with this extension, you have the right to make a
complaint to the Ombudsman. Information about how to do this is available
at [3]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or by phoning 0800 802 602.
