Full breakdown of costs on rebranding and T-Shirts

kate made this Official Information request to Plimmerton School

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for kate to read a recent response and update the status.

From: kate

Dear Plimmerton School,

I am requesting a full breakdown of costs on the rebranding, the mascot and the t-shirts that were given to all kids.
I am requesting the costs to everything around the above and a breakdown of times spent on this.
What a complete waste of money which could have been better spent supporting students and an anti-bully program as the bullying is fully out of control at the the school and nothing is getting done.

Yours faithfully,

Kate

Dear Kate,

Thank you for reaching out with your concerns regarding Plimmerton
School's recent rebranding efforts. I appreciate your dedication to
ensuring that our school's resources are used effectively to support our
students' well-being and educational experience.

I understand that there is concern about the costs associated with the
rebranding, the new mascot, and the t-shirts distributed to all students.
Transparency is important, and I am committed to providing you with a
detailed breakdown of these expenses. Here is the information you
requested:

While the intent behind the rebranding and these initiatives was to foster
a stronger school spirit and sense of community, I understand and
acknowledge your concerns regarding the allocation of resources.

Regarding the issue of bullying, I take this matter very seriously.
Bullying is unacceptable and directly undermines the safe and supportive
environment we strive to maintain at Plimmerton School. We have been
actively working on various strategies to address and prevent bullying,
including:

* Implementation of Anti-Bullying identification and school wide processes: (PB4L lessons and rewards, Behavioural flowchart, Rude, Defining bullying lessons across school; Is it Rude, Mean, Bullying, Syndicate behavioural data identification and lessons to create new initiatives for negative behaviour). Soon to be actioned: Peer mediators,

* Staff Training and Workshops:

 1. Community Evening; Cyber Safety (Term 1, 2024)

 2. Community Evening; Clinical Psychologists from the Porirua Child Adolescent Mental Health Service - Raising Emotionally Healthy Children.

 3. Staff training: Occupational Therapist workshop: Supporting Differences at School & Using Sensory Approaches for learning

 4. Edukate Programme; Mental Health Awareness and Taking Action

Moving forward, I am committed to ensuring that our resources are
allocated in a way that best supports our students' needs and promotes a
positive school culture. I welcome any further suggestions or input you
might have on how we can improve our efforts in these areas.

Thank you for bringing these concerns to my attention. As always, my door
is always open for a conversation and korereo. I look forward to working
together to make Plimmerton School the best it can be for all our
students.

Best regards,
