Under section 15(1) of the Act, we are required to make and inform you of
our decision on your request as soon as reasonably practicable and in any

Thank you for your email of 28 March 2024 to the Ministry of Education
(the Ministry) requesting the following information relating to Enrolment
zone and RTLB relocation for Rewa Rewa School:

                                                                                               

Please provide the following information in relation to the school zone at
Rewa Rewa School and the occupancy of Resource Teachers: Learning and
Behaviour (‘RTLB’) Service located at Rewa Rewa School:

1)      All correspondence, documentation, txt messages, and diary data
between the Minster, Ministry officials, RTLB, and opposition MPs in the
last five years regarding the location of RTLB at Rewa Rewa School
including:

a)      Lease arrangements between the Ministry and RTLB; and

b)      Discussions about RTLB exiting the lease.

2)      All correspondence, memos, documentation, txt messages, and diary
data regarding the meetings with the Rewa Rewa School Board and/or
Ministry staff in 2023 regarding RTLB occupancy.

3)      All correspondence, memos, documentation, txt messages, and diary
data from 2023 and 2024 relating to the relocation of RTLB, including:

a)      Discussions around what sites are available for relocation;

b)      Visits to potential new host sites;

c)      Expenditure; and

d)      Views of the local community.

4)      All correspondence, memos, documentation, txt messages, and diary
data regarding the offer of modular classrooms by the Ministry to Rewa
Rewa School in 2023.

5)      All correspondence, memos, documentation, txt messages, and diary
data within the last two years between the Minster, Ministry officials,
and opposition MPs regarding any zoning changes in the Newlands/Paparangi
school area.

6)      All correspondence, memos, documentation, txt messages, and diary
data in 2023 and 2024 relating to the school zone of Rewa Rewa School,
including:

a)      Limiting the existing school/enrollment zone in scope; and

b)      The population data and population projections underpinning these
discussions and decisions.

 

Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982
(the Act).

 

We have undertaken an initial IT search with a refined search of the last
12 months to determine the number of items potentially in scope. The
initial search resulted in approximately 13,000 results.

 

Therefore, your request as currently worded would likely be refused under
section 18(f) of the Act, as the information cannot be made available
without substantial research and collation.

 

In the hope that we may be able to avoid refusing your request, we would
like to ask you to refine your request. As currently worded, we are unable
to identify specific information to assist in this process.

 

However, if you could provide any specific information you are interested
in such as a defined period of time or a key decision or meeting it would
enable us to find the information most relevant to your request.
