Kāinga Ora feedback to Bill English and Ministers

Alex Olsen made this Official Information request to Kāinga Ora–Homes and Communities

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Alex Olsen to read recent responses and update the status.

From: Alex Olsen

Dear Kāinga Ora–Homes and Communities,

I would like to make an urgent request under the Official Information Act about the Bill English Kāinga Ora review. Please provide copies of feedback documents sent to the review panel on the review interim report and the correspondence provided to ministers on the same day.

I am requesting urgency because there is a public interest in Kāinga Ora’s contribution to the review.

The Minister of Housing and MHUD have not been transparent in their processing of my requests earlier this year and the Ombudsman is investigating.

The Minister and MHUD have previously referred to a future public release, which was finally made yesterday. However, not all documents were released. A document in that release refers to the feedback requested above but they have not provided those documents.

To ensure a balanced debate on the future of the state housing system, it is important that the public understands the views of our largest state housing provider. Please provide these copies as soon as possible but no later than Monday 27 May 2024.

Yours faithfully,

Alex Olsen
