Dear Kāinga Ora–Homes and Communities,

I would like to make an urgent request under the Official Information Act for copies of all presentations, options, analysis and other written documents provided to Tier Two Kāinga Ora managers for their Auckland workshop held earlier this year to discuss and work on the restructure of Kāinga Ora and associated staff cuts.

I am interested in material that was provided at the workshop or provided for consideration at the workshop in the days prior to the meeting.

I would like the information by 14 April 2025.

There is a public interest in the release of this information before the staff consultation period on the proposed restructure and staff cuts closes.

Staff should be able to evaluate what the proposal prepared by the expert consultants and a small group of internal staff was at that time.

Staff and the public need to understand the thinking behind the plan presented at the workshop and how it compares to the 3 April proposal that made deep cuts to staff. These cuts have the potential to negatively impact on the service delivery of a government agency that serves over 200,000 people.
