Hi N.S,
We are writing to update you on your OIA request regarding the above flight data.
We are currently working through your request and consultation is required. We are therefore extending the time to make decision on your request to 14 June 2024.
We will endeavour to respond to you sooner, with 14 June 2024 being the latest date for a decision. This extension is made under section 15A(1)(b), as consultations necessary to make a decision on the request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at http://www.ombudsman.parliament.nz/ or freephone 0800 802 602.
If you wish to discuss any aspect of your request with us, including this decision, please feel free to contact me.

Dear Iwase, Naoka,
Terribly sorry but I noticed I made a mistake by putting the time selection as GMT, when I meant 31st December 2023 between the hours of 3:45 AM and 4:15 AM NZT.
Also if I may please get the headers of each column of data so I know which is which? The "Data 1" list that you've given me is in the order of
• Call sign
• Wake Turbulence category
• Aircraft type
• Ground Speed
• Current Altitude/Flight Level
• Destination
• Squawk code
but "5612" is in the 4th column, whereas above the squawk code is last, and don't know which some of them are just by looking at them. Also if you could please tell me how often the tracks are or add the timestamp too.
If something is tracked and yet unknown what it is, please still add the data.
If you would like me to start a fresh request I will do so.
Yours sincerely,
N. S. Hudson

Hi N.S.,
Could you please confirm if you are after the flight data between the
hours of 3:45 AM and 4:15 AM NZT, as there are usually no flights at this

Also, if we are able to send a movie showing the flight data, is that fine
with you? It will be much easier to see and understand the information
compared to an Excel sheet.
Thank you.

Dear Naoka Iwase,
Yes please the video is fine, I am particularly interested in that time to see if there was anything other than LATAM LA801 passing over Wairoa being picked up at that time, whether it be known or unknown.
I got up for a toilet trip while I was camping and something "extremely bright" was in the air after LAN801 had passed over. There was nothing else on ADSB at that time.
Yours sincerely,
N. S. Hudson

Hi N.S.,
Could you please confirm if you are after the flight data between the
hours of 3:45 AM and 4:15 AM NZT, as there are usually no flights at this
time?
Also, if we are able to send a movie showing the flight data, is that
fine with you? It will be much easier to see and understand the
information compared to an Excel sheet.
Thank you.
