Revised Mode Capacities used in the finalised Auckland Rapid Transit Plan

Tony Randle made this Official Information request to Auckland Transport

The request was partially successful.

From: Tony Randle

Dear Auckland Transport,

On the 28th November 2023, the Auckland Transport Board discussed Item 19.
"Auckland Rapid Transit Plan (ARTP) - final approval". Attached to the Item 19 Board Decision Paper is Item 19.1 "Auckland Rapid Transit Plan Report 2023": https://at.govt.nz/media/x3lnui1h/191-au...

On page 22 of this report is a graph titled "Passengers per Hour" showing the mode capacities for a variety of public transport modes including Heavy Rail, Light Rail, Advanced Trambus and Busway.

Note that I have previously requested and received information on the Mode Capacity graph used in the Draft ARTP: https://fyi.org.nz/request/23621-capacit...

This information request asked about the equivalent graph on page 25 of the Draft ARTP presented to the AT Board meeting of 29th August 2023: https://at.govt.nz/media/1992602/191-auc...

I now note that some of the mode capacity amounts have changed from the draft ARTP (e.g. Light rail on-street has gone from 10,700 to about 12,500 and Advanced Trambus has reduced from 9,600 to about 8,500). I am interested in understanding the revised mode capacities used in the ARTP as stated in the graph on page 22:

1) Can AT please provide a copy of the source spreadsheet that created this graph? For the sake of clarity, a copy of the spreadsheet with all formula and other programming is requested.

2) Can AT please provide a copy of the memo, email, purchase order or other communication that requested the information in this graph to be revised from the Draft ARTP?

3) Can AT please provide copies of all spreadsheets, papers, reports, and/or correspondence which is the source for the revised information in this graph?

4) Can AT please provide the source (transport expert, transport consulting company) that provided the revised information in this graph?

5) Can AT please outline when it received the revised information in this graph?

6) Can AT please provide a copy of any and all reviews (internal or external) of the information in the graph that confirmed this revised information is accurate?

If this information is held in electronic form, it is preferred that the information is provided in its complete and original electronic format.

Finally, can AT please acknowledge your receipt of this FYI request?

Yours faithfully,

Tony Randle
