Data broken down by school( Halswell Residential College, Salisbury School,
Westbridge Residential School) for each question as applicable
Students who applied to enrol in RSS in 2023 and 2024
How many applied for each school?
How many were accepted?
How many enrolled?
How many were turned down at enrolment meeting?
How many were turned down due to a section 37 decision?
How many students while enrolled in RSS faced any form of Kiwi standdown, suspension
or exclusion? Provide timeframes in each situation.
How many students were referred to RSS by RTLB, Intensive Wraparound Service, and
Ministry of Education regional staff?
How many students who enrolled in a RSS had been enrolled in a regular local school
prior to attending RSS?
How many were enrolled in a day special school prior to attending RSS?
How many were funded through the ORS?
Students who transitioned from RSS in 2023 and 2024

The date range of 2023 and 2024 has been added to some parts of the
request but not all. Can you please confirm that the data you want is for
2023 and 2024 for all questions?
Additionally, in part 8 of your request you refer to student enrolment in
a “regular local school”. Can you please provide further explanation of
what you mean by “regular”’ and “local”? For example, are you interested
in whether students attended a school in the Education Region they
resided, or interested in the type of school attended (e.g. specialist,
primary, composite, secondary, home schooling), or whether the school was
public/state-integrated/private?
I look forward to hearing from you. Once we have your clarification, we
will commence work on your request. Please respond to this email by 31
January 2025.

We have not received a response in relation to the two aspects of your
request we sought clarification on via email on 24 January. We have
therefore interpreted the timeframe for each part of the request to be
2023 and 2024. We have also interpreted “local regular school” to mean
that you want to know what type of school a student was enrolled in prior
to enrolling at one of the three Residential Specialist schools listed
above e.g. state school, day specialist school, home schooled etc.
