The OIA requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our
decision, to 9 April 2024. We will respond to your request before this
date if possible.

This extension is necessary because consultations necessary to make a
decision on your request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably
be made within the original time limit.

You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of

This is a request under the Official Information Act. Please provide the
following:

background and rationale for mandating of the Te Kakano course in 2023

2. All information, including but not limited to business cases, memos,
email messages, watsapp messages, SMS messages, et al related to the
background and rationale for making the Te Kakano course optional for 2024

3. The total number of people who were required under the mandate in 2023
to complete Te Kakano including a breakdown of the number that did not
complete Te Kakano

4. The number of and details of any complaints and appeals related to the
requirement to mandatorily complete Te Kakano in 2023
