Kia ora M Hill,

Please find attached the response to your request for information.

Please note, appendix 2 when applying the redactions makes the email correspondence illegible. I apologise for this inconvenience, however below is a summary of what appendix 2 captures.

Appendix 2 - An email sent to then Deputy Mayor Free on 28 June 2022 from a member of public with the following:

"I've been working on motorcycle safety for about 50 years now, so I know a bit about road safety...
The plan to put a bus depot on Shelley Bay Road is a real road safety problem!
Buses will have to exit Shelley Bay Road onto Miramar Ave at a T intersection. The buses will have to cross Miramar Ave very near a corner. For any vehicles, but especially motorcycles. meeting a bus crossing the road as
they exit the corner this could be a disaster! The only answer would be a roundabout there and it would be only right that NZ Bus pay for it.
You may use the existence of this email to further road/motorcycle safety if needed
New Zealand Motorcycle Safety Consultants"

Then Deputy Mayor Free acknowledges the email on the same day and states " I’ve copied in our elected member’s help desk, a few fellow ward councillors, and some of our senior staff working in this area so that they are also aware of your concerns"

Thank you for your time

Kind regards
