I refer to your information request dated 9 November 2023 made under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). You have requested the following information:

1. students who received offer (not only accepted but received) for MBChB or BDs through HSFY's international student category (Past 5 years including 2023 and, If you know the results of 2024 at the time of your reply, please attach them)

2. Number of HSFY's international students who applied to MBChB this year. (for 2024 entry)

3. Number of HSFY's international students interviewed for BDs this year. (not apply)

4.If the number of international students admitted to BDs or MBChB is not filled, whether they have recruited additional successful applicants or will they do so this year.

The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the date your request was received/clarified. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit. We are therefore writing to notify you, pursuant to section 15A of the Act, of an extension of the time to make our decision in respect of your request, by a further 5 working days – to 14 December 2023. However, we will endeavour to provide the information sooner if possible.

This extension is necessary to allow for consultations necessary to make a decision on your request. We thank you for your patience – we will endeavour to provide the information sooner if possible.

If you are not satisfied with our extension of time, you have the right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman under section 28(3) of the Act. However, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns with you first.
