Ministry of Education
Tçnâ koe Josh
Thank you for your email of 11 September 2023 to the Ministry of Education
requesting the following information:
I would like to request the PowerPoint presentations utilized in schools
around 2010 for Kiwi Kid songs, including but not limited to "Bad Hair
Day," "2 Legged Mice," "School is Number One," and "Copycat Rap."
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982
(the Act).
Kiwi Kidsongs were distributed to schools every year for almost 20 years
until 2010 and, as at 20 August 2021, 50 of the classics are available
online through the Ministry’s Arts Online website at:
[1]https://artsonline.tki.org.nz/Teaching-a....
The songs are available as video karaoke tracks, and each complete song is
accompanied by teaching suggestions, a full musical score and a track
without vocals. They are aimed at children from Years 1-8.
The Ministry does not hold PowerPoint presentations for Kiwi Kidsongs;
individual schools may have developed presentations for use in their
school. As such, we are refusing your request under section 18(g) of the
Act, as the Ministry does not hold the information requested and has no
reason to believe the information is held by, or more closely connected to
the functions of, another department.
Thank you again for your email. You have the right to ask an Ombudsman to
review my decision on your request, in accordance with section 28 of the
Act. You can do this by writing to [2][email address] or to
Office of the Ombudsman, PO Box 10152, Wellington 6143.
Ngâ mihi
